A governor’s legacy

When former Maine Governor Angus King and First Lady Mary Hermann were still in office, they decided to replace the dining table in the governor’s mansion as their legacy, and Bill was chosen to build it. Although the look needed to be traditional, this huge table would have to fill a variety of unusual functional needs. So, Bill constructed it in sections. Two of these sections can be removed from the whole as smaller free-standing, tilt-top tables shown below. There are also three leaves and two main sections. When fully assembled for cabinet meetings and the like, the table measures 20 feet long by 54 inches wide, and it seats 22 people. Made of mahogany with rosewood banding. Ready to order your legacy?

Here you can see the main table in the center of the room, with the two additional sections, which also function independently as smaller tables, against the back wall.
